We will hold and use any information that we collect about you in accordance with all applicable UK Data Protection and consumer legislation.

This privacy notice tells you how we will use any information that we collect about you when you visit or use our Site.

It gives you details about the kinds of personal data that we may collect from you, how we use this data and your rights to control our use of your personal data.

Who we are

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998, the data controller is The Natural Language Company Limited (trading as Baby Listen), Cleveland House, 51 Cleveland Park Avenue, London E17 7BP, United Kingdom.

What is our lawful basis for collecting and processing your personal information?

Data protection law details a range of different reasons for which a company can collect and process personal data, including:

Consent

In certain situations, we can collect and process your personal information with your consent, e.g. if you opt in to receive email newsletters.

Contractual obligations

In specific circumstances, we need your personal information to comply with our contractual obligations, e.g. if you order an product from us for delivery to you at home, we’ll need to use your address details in order to deliver the product; we’ll also need to pass them to our delivery service. Similarly, if someone orders a gift to be delivered to you, we’ll need to collect and process some of your details from them in order to fulfil our contract to the purchaser and deliver the item(s) to you.

Legal compliance

If required to do so by law, we may need to collect and process personal information in order to pass on details of people committing fraud or other criminal activity affecting our company to the police or other agencies.

Legitimate interests

In certain circumstances, we need to process your personal information in order to advance our legitimate commercial interests in a way which someone might reasonably expect in the running of a business and in a way which is balanced against your interests, rights and freedoms.

As an example, we may use your purchase history to send you details of personalised offers.

We may also combine the purchase history of groups of customers in order to identify trends and make sure we can meet demand for our products and services, as well as developing new products and services.
